Cookie policy

Summary

IndexDoctor.io uses essential cookies to run, plus optional Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage. Analytics is off by default and only loads if you click Accept analytics in the cookie banner. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting, or behavioural profiling.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store. Browsers send the cookie back on subsequent requests to the same site, which lets the site remember things between page loads. Cookies are widely used for both essential and non-essential purposes.

Cookies we use

  • indexdoctor_cookie_consentEssential

Remembers your cookie banner choice so we don't ask again on every page.

    Storage
    First-party, localStorage (no server cookie)
    Retention
Until you clear your browser storage
  • (infrastructure)Essential

Our hosting and CDN providers may set short-lived cookies to route traffic, balance load, or mitigate abuse. These are required for the site to be reachable.

    Storage
    First-party or provider-domain
    Retention
    Session or short rolling window
  • _ga, _ga_*Analytics (opt-in)

Set by Google Analytics 4 only after you click Accept analytics. Used to measure aggregate page visits, sessions, and referrers. IP addresses are anonymized and no cross-site advertising features are enabled.

    Storage
    First-party cookie set by gtag.js
    Retention
Up to 2 years (_ga), 2 years (_ga_*) or until you clear storage

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No Google Ads or remarketing integrations.
  • No social network embed cookies.
  • No fingerprinting or device identification.
  • No analytics before consent. Picking Essential only in the banner stops Google Analytics from loading at all.

Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. To withdraw analytics consent after the fact, clear site data for IndexDoctor.io (or clear localStorage) and pick Essential only when the banner reappears. Blocking infrastructure-level cookies may degrade reliability as the network requires them.

Changes

If we introduce additional cookie usage, we'll update this page and ask for fresh consent in the cookie banner before any new non-essential cookies are set.
